Regarding the Status of Returned Proposals
by BoredApeG - Accepted AIP Author
Posted on: Sept. 28, 2024, 2:50 p.m.
Content: We can disagree in thinking it’s the not the same, but it doesn’t change the fact the return status was revoked. Show me where it says it can’t be applied this way either? In any case, of course the Foundation can always apply discretion because it’s impossible to cover every single edge case scenario. I trust you compared to most members in the community would understand this when you’re experienced on other boards and/or non-profits.

Regarding the Status of Returned Proposals
by BoredApeG - Accepted AIP Author
Posted on: Sept. 28, 2024, 1:09 p.m.
Content: There’s nothing to disagree here, it’s not the same thing. If that were still the return for reconstruction status, but not if it’s revoked then it’s still in admin review. SC and Foundaiton can change their mind/votes. Same as when an AIP has move to ready for vote status and is revoked (which again has happened numerous times).

Regarding the Status of Returned Proposals
by BoredApeG - Accepted AIP Author
Posted on: Sept. 28, 2024, 9:38 a.m.
Content: Revoking AIP status has happened numerous times before and the AIP has been sent back to admin review. We’ve approved numerous proposals to go to vote and pulled them/revoked status and go back to admin review. Revoking return for reconstruction status is the same. Tbh this forum post wasn’t necessary by the admin team and adds to the confusion. This is a non issue.

Facilitator Note #20 : Apes Gotta’ Eat
by BoredApeG - Accepted AIP Author
Posted on: Sept. 24, 2024, 4:26 p.m.
Content: Yat and I connected about this. I also agree there’s enough ambiguity about this it’d have to be addressed better if it came up again. Fwiw I was glad it failed, didn’t have to deal with any fallout. Though generally I’m not against delegating locked tokens - it’s standard practice for top token networks.

AIP-451: Improving Voting Cycle Efficiency and Shortening the AIP Process
by BoredApeG - Accepted AIP Author
Posted on: May 6, 2024, 11:10 p.m.
Content: Echoing @VonFrontin concerns, there is certainly not enough time for delegations. Most do not even get the AIPs up to their communities within 24 hours of posting. Also, quite a few have councils that set times to meet and discuss AIPs based on their availabilities; this would make it increasingly difficult. Furthermore, 4 days is not enough time for the community get educated because we know most people don’t read AIPs until they are on snapshot.
Case in point, AIP- 419 right now has had the most engagement on the X timeline in recent memory. The time for discourse has enabled voters to re-visit their votes, and change their mind. Now the vote has flipped to Against in large part due to early voters such as Yat changing their initial votes. If the proposed timeline was implemented, there would not have been enough time for community discourse to flip this vote.

Lost:
Streamlining the voting cycle would expedite community decision-making processes, enabling the community to react more quickly to proposed changes and initiatives.
IMO such a short window only benefits the subsection of members glued to their screens at the DAO; most members are not. If people aren’t paying attention/busy, then it provides potential to allow people to “sneak” AIPs through when if given more time, the broader community would not have voted it through. The weekends are also notoriously quiet for DAO voters. 3 business days is simply not enough time.
Lost:
Making the AIP Idea phase optional would provide flexibility while ensuring that critical community discussion can still take place during the Draft stage.
The Idea phase is the only fair opportunity for anyone in the community to have their voice heard. One may not have the votes to make the world of a difference in a snapshot vote, but everyone is on the same playing field for 7 -days in the Idea phase on discourse. Voting power doesn’t matter when giving feedback during the Idea phase. Pushing community comment to Draft phase allows any author to effectively bypass obtaining community feedback because they can clear this phase immediately/on the same day if they wanted to.
Lost:
Establishing a fixed voting schedule would enhance predictability and consistency, making it easier for community members to engage in the governance process.
a) referencing again the short window, I don’t believe makes it easier for community members to engage (see AIP- 419 where the additional time has been incredibly helpful), and b) the currently established fixed voting schedule has arguably produced the most meaningful results in both passed AIPs and reasonable time for discourse. Do you feel the results have actually been negative that such a drastic change to the current schedule is necessary?

@BoredApeG - Special Council Nomination 01/2024
by BoredApeG - Accepted AIP Author
Posted on: Dec. 2, 2023, 5:12 p.m.
Content: Thank you always for your support and activities around the ApeCoin DAO ecosystem, @foxSlightly
Now that you have served, what skillset or experience do you feel are absolutely required for the SC position?
Our ApeCoin ecosystem is a DAO, not a dictatorship. Therefore, to be an effective SC member, one needs to be a proven Collaborative Leader. Without these types of leadership skills, it will be difficult to accomplish anything meaningful while on SC and/or around the DAO.
I elaborate more in my thread here: https://x.com/BoredApeG/status/ 1729208138891657340 ?s= 20
If elected, what is the one item you feel passionate about and would like to see accomplished during your second tenure within the DAO?
I align with @ssp 1111 single issue candidacy “to reduce the confusion around the Special Council role and duties by returning the SC back to being THE BOARD as originally envisioned…” Ultimately, accomplishing this will contribute to solving for much needed activity elsewhere in the ecosystem and for creating a more diverse group of SC in the future.
How many hours would you say you dedicate to this role on avg per week?
Nowadays no less than 30 direct hours, with more indirectly due to the other activities I do both within the ApeCoin DAO and web 3 outside of Special Council; the work I do is always complimentary to my work within SC which allows me to always think about how I can best serve in my capacity as SC. Also please note that during the peak times of the administrative transition this year I was spending 50 + hours/week directly on SC work.
Currently, many of the proposals are determined by large wallets, there are many grumblings about it though I stand neutral on this; if possible, would you change this? and if so, how and why?
I am always open to improvements throughout our governance process, but I am realist when it comes to potentially taking away the voting power of those who have accumulated them in our ecosystem. It would take collaborative effort, that among other things, honors the work of these holders. I would not personally change this because that is not the role of Special Council, but I would love to work with the community to workshop through potential changes.
