a. A historical snapshot of holders of APE on Dec 21 st with 50 , 000 or more in voting power who have voted on at least one AIP.
b. A historical snapshot of holders of APE on Dec 21 st that have voted on 50 % or more of all AIPs
Can the person(s) responsible for administering this historical snapshot share more details on how this will be done? I like the format, qualifications and criteria. It would be reassuring to see someone respond that they’ve looked into the specifics of capturing the historical snapshots and we have it all covered.
Actually, there’s no reason that this historical snapshot can’t be posted now to allow an x day window for everyone to validate that they’re on the list in advance.
Will the snapshot include holders of 50 , 000 + that were staking at the time of this snapshot? Do we have that capture covered because I’d think it’s a different process than a historical wallet snapshot (which I wasn’t aware of and sparked my questioning in the first place).
Is the snapshot at 00 : 00 on 12 / 21 / 21 or some other time?
I’m editing and adding as I go btw lol. On like my 5 th edit as I think of more things that could spark an “election fairness” type issue.

Working Groups and Transition Plan (The “Steward”)

Do you really expect new blood to enter this DAO if they have to produce a corporate RFP after the grueling AIP process?
I thought that I read that Cartan took on the additional responsibility of running RFPs for AIPs. In no way do I think Cartan should be doing this and it should instead fall on the AIP author (should they choose to run an RFP).
I agreed with low priority because I believed it should have never been a Cartan responsibility in the first place.

The Contingency

Content: Looking forward to seeing the community add their feedback and input to a Transition Plan. I’ll just emphasize again that ASAP we should submit an AIP that gives someone or some committee the authority to take action.
I’m not saying that the special council wouldn’t side with the community, but they’re not obligated to act in the best interest of forum voices. They will, however, be obligated to act on snapshot votes.

The Contingency

Content: Would now be a good time to elect a Transition Committee? It sounds like @Brooklyn, @Gerry, and @badteeth are working on closely with Cartan and/or the existing Special Councill? If so, I’d be in favor of electing a small group who would be responsible for overseeing the transition.
IMO it’s important to get an AIP rolling to obtain the authority that obligates the existing/new SC + Cartan to work with the community.
Here’s what I’m afraid could happen in the next 2 - 4 weeks:
Cartan’s AIP fails and they do not put another AIP forward
Cartan negotiates an extension with the Special Council under Special Council Grant
We fail to truly understand what needs to be transitioned and what can be eliminated
Sometime in 2023 we find ourselves in the exact same position

Create TWITTER usage guidelines and codes of practice
by NFTC - No Role
Posted on: Dec. 16, 2022, 10:42 a.m.
Content: You do have a point here. ApeCoin retweeted ApeComms Special Council Nominees # 3 & # 4 , but I’m not seeing # 1 , # 2 , or # 5 . I was actually speaking in # 4 .
I’m aligned that we can collectively draw up guidelines. What if we also outlined a scope for the social media channels then invited social media management companies to formally bid? Then we send it to vote and hand over the keys from Cartan to the winning company?

- furiousanger: I hope someone with better skills than me runs with these ideas etc and puts them into an appropriate AIP format, that we can all get behind and really make fit correctly.

Reduce Special Council monthly compensation
by NFTC - No Role
Posted on: Dec. 16, 2022, 9:58 a.m.
Content: Would you suggest enacting this on current and soon-to-be elected Special Council? If so, how would you justify changing it mid-term?
I partially agree with you, but I think it’s a sticky situation to enact at this time and discussion should have been had well before Special Council Nominations.
For some, $ 250 k is a drop in the bucket. I can’t imagine that Alexis is heavily relying on his $ 250 k/yr from ApeCoin. For others, $ 250 k is way more than they’d earn in any other capacity.
The President of France and average income of Monaco aren’t fair comparisons. Surely there is some data out there on pay for role similar to SC.

- Apeancestor: I don’t think we can change now, but it is a lesson learned! How to decentralize the power structure and have a more efficient working teams. We should ask this question.
Who and why did we set the financial incentive compensation $20000+ per month as salary for SC? Which is higher than the working France President today, just like other members pointed it out. It is crazy too much!
- DIM: Thank you for the reply and your thoughts. That’s the goal of this post: discussion. On the points you are raising:
Justifying the change mid term: I don’t see this as an issue considering the elections will always be split in two it would mean we never change it as there will always be people mid term. People against it will simply vote no.
I do agree that 250k can be a drop in the bucket for some. But for those, like me, who never earned this amount and probably never will this is an outrageous amount of money. I am personaly running for a seat on the Special Council and I have an issue with this amount.
The problem about looking for somilar role is there is not a clear guideline one the role. Just the mention that, as is, the work require just a few hours a week.
Sorry if I have some trouble articulating ideas, I’m not a native English speaker. Feel free to let me know if I need to explain more

Create TWITTER usage guidelines and codes of practice

Content: Hey @furiousanger
Although it’s not required, I would suggest using the AIP template to more concisely convey your thoughts to us readers. I think you’re on to something here, but I’m unsure how to offer feedback until the ask or idea is more structured.
What have you observed up until today? How is it being used? What would you recommend restricting or promoting?

- furiousanger: Makes total sense, this is kinda just a way for me to gauge the community will and then maybe if applicable I’ll go full throttle, but noted and totally agree.
Btang agreed that there is a lack of clarity, no defined rights or wrongs or dos and don’ts when it comes to how the twitter should be used and they are basically making it up as they go along. This was sort of okay when we started I guess, but we are now at a stage when even a few tweets from our community APECOIN TWITTER feed with 355K followers has such great power it must be properly used, and tbh I’m seeing the total opposite of late, with aggressive retweeting, up until recently, of frens ideas and AIPs they wanna see succeed for whatever reason. Just look at APECOIN TWITTER feed, its neither fair or unbiased and many share my view including those who control it (cartan group).
- furiousanger: Solution:
We draw up guidelines, for example we treat and tweet all AIPs the same, with maybe breakdown of how, what, why, when etc etc, and link, we stay neutral and fair, add no weight to any AIP idea and we do not try to influence the community votes - TWITTER becomes Switzerland (but without the N**I gold laundering ofc), a neutral entity purely to relay important information.
We could then maybe move onto the newsletters, as we all see the alarming HIT PIECE written the other day and posted on a DAO funded newsletter to damage and FUD an opposing DISCORD AIP - these are our community resources, not a theifdom for the few to help their frens up the ladder and secure monies. AIP-191: ApeCoin DAO Mission Statement Workshop
by NFTC - No Role
Posted on: Dec. 15, 2022, 10:05 p.m.
Content: I love this initiative and think that forming a Mission Statement is long overdue. Thank you for getting it kickstarted! I believe that sourcing a mission statement from the community is key.
I’m just excited for Otherside as anyone else, but I don’t think that we should wait for Otherside nor limit ourselves to having discussion within it. For starters, it is PC and not all holders may have access to a PC capable of running it.
My suggestion would be that we host a series of meetings across different mediums to collect feedback from the community. Some of those mediums could be: Discourse, Twitter Spaces, Zoom, etc.
From there, we aggregate the common themes and share them with the community.
Then, a second round of meetings should occur where anyone from the community can propose a Mission Statement. We collect submission then send them to a ranked-choice Snapshot vote.
If you’ll have me I’ll volunteer my time to facilitate some of the meetings or act in any capacity deemed necessary.

Zero intentions of waiting if there are too many challenges with this option, just want to explore it as a unique opportunity to build connectivity for governance in a way that only ApeCoin DAO can do.

Process-wise I’ve worked with some professional facilitators that were able to do amazing things to build consensus around ideas. I’ve reached out to see if we can engage them to help us (more info to come).
Regardless we’ll need all the volunteer help we can get to coordinate and I appreciate you stepping up to make it happen. Thank you!

@NFTC - Nomination 1/2022

Content: Cartan’s Admin Extension (AIP- 138 ) was actually pushed to Snapshot vote this week. I would urge all to vote NO on this AIP and allow the DAO negotiate an revised AIP with Cartan.
Their proposal actually had a ton of feedback yet they seemingly ignored it all.
