  • MemeBrains: Open question on this one; how does, or would, the DAO enforce anything on any AIP? If an author opts to use their approved funds in an alternate manner than proposed in their AIP, what’s the recourse? From what I’ve observed, there’s a combination of a) clear communication and b) honor system Clear communication comes from the AIP process documentation combined with the grant agreement legal documents, and the honor system seems to generally come from people valuing their integrity and reputation, and this has seemed sufficient to ensure, for the most part, that AIP funds have been put to intended use. My thought is that this AIP above simply ads an additional layer to the existing functional system, to make it just a little bit better in practice of closing the loop in supporting the ecosystem growth and price of $APE What do you think of this? Curious if there’s been any enforcement related topics come up in the past or not on previous AIPs and if yes then how they were addressed
  • SmartAPE: Nova: Nice idea in theory, but not sure how the DAO would ever enforce this if made mandatory. True. But my thinking is that if my ACE proposal passes, I could incentivize participation via the platform’s rewards program. That was the first thing that crossed my mind because building an engagement aligned rewards platform is the perfect funnel for use cases like this because bribery never fails when it comes to crypto.

We’re psyched to be a part of Thank APE’s Built By ApeCoin Accelerator Program and have some cool things we’re working on for the ApeCoin community! We joined the Yuga Labs ecosystem right around the Otherside mint in 2022 . The founders have worked together for over a decade, including an art-gaming studio that we ran a while back that produced early Facebook & iOS games. After going down the web 3 rabbit hole we about the future of art & gaming and found the inspiration to launch Vora Labs. Vora Labs is a small team that punches above its weight class. Since our launch we’ve brought multiple activations & minigames to market, including Flappy Koda, DashBored, and several Fortnite maps. We’re also proud of the various pieces of lore that we’ve created, including comics, motion comics & 3 D animations. Our project has also incorporated multiple IPs from the Yugaverse, including BAYC, Kodas and Mutant Hounds. Last, but not least, our most recent Fortnite map exceeded was played by over 100 K unique users and close to 2 million minutes played. As a part of our ApeCoin Giveback Initiative for the BBAC program, we’re going to implement a new level in DashBored called Milli vs. the Rolling Bones. Anyone will be able to access this level, and those who have at least 1 ApeCoin and defeat the Rollings Bones will receive a limited edition Milli (based on BAYC # 2338 ) 3 d avatar that’s MML-ready and compatible with MSquared & Otherside.

• AIP-493: ApeCoin Launch Contributor Transparency & Disclosures by Nova - No Role

  Content: ApeCoin Launch Contributor Transparency & Portfolio Company Disclosures: TEAM DESCRIPTION: Nova (Leo) - Co-founder of Other Page (Strategy, Marketing, & Operations). Co-founder of Vora Labs (web 3 art & gaming studio). Seasoned SaaS marketing & revenue executive with multiple scale-ups & exits. PROPOSAL DESCRIPTION: When ApeCoin launched the ApeCoin Launch Contributors were given 140 , 000 , 000 tokens (see ApeCoin about section for breakdown: ApeCoin for the Web 3 Economy). While all launch contributors were not disclosed, we know that two of those launch contributors who are actively involved in the ApeCoin DAO are Horizen Labs / Horizen Labs Ventures & Animoca Brands. Over the past year, more and more portfolio companies, partners & customers of Horizen Labs / Horizen Labs Ventures and Animoca Brands (aka Apecoin Launch Contributors) have put up AIPs in the ApeCoin DAO and received funding. While this is fine, I believe that with ApeCoin’s price at an all-time low, we need to provide more transparency to the DAO voters regarding proposals submitted by ApeCoin Launch Contributors and companies (portfolio companies, partners & customers) affiliated with them. I believe it is imperative for the DAO voters to know the following information before voting on any AIP from a portfolio company of one of ApeCoin launch contributors: For portfolio companies of ApeCoin Launch Contributors: The portfolio company must disclose the name of the Apecoin Launch Contributor(s) on their cap table (Horizen Labs, Horizen Labs Ventures, Animoca Brands, or any combination of the three). The portfolio company must disclose the total percentage of their company owned by the Apecoin Launch Contributor(s). The portfolio company must disclose the total amount invested by the Apecoin Launch Contributor(s) to date, including all private and public rounds that the launch contributor participated in. After each AIP is passed, a KYB is performed by the DAO, during which the cap table is submitted by the portfolio company. If the DAO’s legal team finds that the above disclosures were not made or were made inaccurately, then the AIP legal process is halted, and no funds are distributed to the portfolio company. For customers, partners or vendors of ApeCoin Launch Contributors: The customer, partner, or vendor must disclose the name of the ApeCoin Launch Contributor (Horizen Labs, Horizen Labs Ventures, Animoca Brands, or any combination of the three) that they work with and the nature of their relationship (customer, partner, or vendor). The customer, partner or vendor must disclose the length of time (in months and years) that they have been in business with the ApeCoin Launch Contributor. BENEFIT TO APECOIN ECOSYSTEM: Improves transparency for DAO voters and keeps Apecoin Launch Contributors more accountable. DEFINITIONS: ApeCoin Launch Contributors - Animoca Brands & Horizen Labs / Horizen Labs Ventures Customer - an individual or organization that purchases goods or services from the ApeCoin Launch Contributor(s) Partner - an individual or organization that collaborates with ApeCoin Lauch Contributor(s) to achieve mutual goals. Vendor - a person or company that supplies goods or services to the APeCoin Launch Contributor(s) STEPS TO IMPLEMENT: After this AIP is passed we will make the disclosure items outlined above required for portfolio companies, partners & customers of ApeCoin Launch Contributors when submitting an AIP idea. REPORTING EXPECTATIONS: Within 12 months of the proposal passing and being implemented we will prepare a report that contains all AIPs that were put up by companies affiliated with the ApeCoin Launch Contributors and total amounts raised. This repoirt available via my personal X/Twitter account (@prollynuthin). In addition to this, I will create a shared Google Sheet that they will update after each round of AIPs. OVERALL COST: Total amount requested from the ApeCoin Ecosystem Fund = $ 0 .

This seems fair, reasonable, all upside to the community, and zero downside to honest authors putting up quality AIPs Has my preemptive YES vote Nova: Over the past year, more and more portfolio companies, partners & customers of Horizen Labs / Horizen Labs Ventures and Animoca Brands (aka Apecoin Launch Contributors) have put up AIPs in the ApeCoin DAO and received funding I’ve heard this said multiple times and simultaneously have no idea which companies those are. Would love to have this transparency
• AIP-489: Restoring Balance by Nova - No Role

  Content: I like the general idea of this proposal, however there’s some room for exploits here. Biggest one I see is that Yuga Labs launch partners got thousands of Otherdeeds & Kodas: Animoca brands holds 1709 Otherdeeds and 189 Kodas Horizen Labs holds 500 Otherdeeds and 54 Kodas This could potentially give these two voters a direct line to another 6 . 9 M ApeCoin to vote with. Based on this I would limit the ApeCoin delegation to BAYC/MAYC only and get rid of Otherside delegation.

  Content: SmartAPE: 25 M $APE While I like the general idea of this proposal, 25 M $APE seems to be overkill and would singlehandedly decide every single vote. Something in the neighborhood of 5 M $APE would be more reasonable.

  Content: There is likely very little demand for something like this. Devs who know what they’re doing are already very connected and wouldn’t use this. Also the payout fee seems completely unsustainable.

  Content: Oh lord, not another AIP to buy NFTs. We already did this 2 x, Machi (DAM) + Yat. Assets are so inexpensive now that pretty any brand or even MBA can purchase their own instead of licensing. We’ll just end up buying a bunch of assets that will sit in a wallet and not get licensed.
