by ZastrowBradley - No Role
Posted on: Nov. 11, 2024, 10:27 p.m.
Content: Cheers for the detail in the above. However, can you confirm Chris Esquibel’s active involvement with your project? I understand he did some consulting for you guys last year but I didn’t think he was a team member.

ACE Team Interest List
by ZastrowBradley - No Role
Posted on: July 17, 2024, 2:07 a.m.
Content: This is a bold initiative with 4 inter-connected pillars and a strong value proposition for both users and the DAO - ApeChain/DAO needs this.
One of the key takeaways is that this isn’t just an idea - there is real tech already developed & being used (i.e. DePIN); dramatically improving the probability of success & timeline for deployment.
I am looking forward to building this with you.

AIP-487: ApeCoin Community Engagement Platform
by ZastrowBradley - No Role
Posted on: July 11, 2024, 7:35 p.m.
Content: I appreciate the amount of time, detail and thought you put into the ACE Platform proposal. This is a big bet, which I like but building with the interconnectivity of the 4 projects is also important. DAOs don’t have typical management structures so this interconnectivity ensures a better/quicker outcome vs. 4 independent projects coming together. It also makes sense given the nature of that connectivity; I’d prefer the natural goal/incentive alignment that will exist with the portal, identity, world and token being managed by the same team. For this to succeed we need that cohesion.
Speed to market is something I appreciate greatly and given a) this isn’t your first rodeo with gaming and b) it’s based on pre-existing off the shelf tech, I certainly have more confidence on the execution as well. Using existing tech is analogous to forking a protocol, it’s efficient and battle tested.
More tactically, the ApeID is something I really like and important infrastructure on which to build moving forward. We’ve seen Animoca and Immutable both do this with their ID systems. Interoperability across the “universe” will be critical.
Tokens will be important to get right of course. My advice here is to focus on demand for the token and why people will want to buy and/or hold it. I’ve seen a lot of complex tokenomic design but many miss this basic principle. Not suggesting this is your approach, but for example, a token that is only used for discounts or voting, by definition sets a ceiling to it’s price, regardless of any supply levers being pulled. Do we buy & hold coupons? Of course not, so why would someone do the same with a digital one?
In the broader context of ApeChain launching this month, I also think a big bet like this is even more critical. We’ve voted down other game builders who aren’t returning (Jonah) and I haven’t heard anything concrete with gaming launch partners (please correct me if I’m wrong). While timing isn’t everything, it’s definitely something and the timing of this proposal also makes it more important.
We only get 1 chance to make a first impression with ApeChain. An underwhelming launch is not a great way to position it for long term success. I’d love to see this come up to vote ASAP. We also know AIPs can be fast-tracked (F 1 , Banana Bill, etc…) @SmartAPE have you been able to chat with the SC yet on any path to fast track the AIP?
While the Banana Bill doesn’t require gaming projects to only go through their team - I appreciate your comment re: why not the Banana Bill in your FAQ. I think it makes sense on why it wasn’t your initial path. However, if this AIP was voted down for some reason, would you explore the Banana Bill at a later date or would you restructure the AIP?
While I understand you may not be privy to this detail but do you know if there’s any games already building on ApeChain that may compete with this proposal in some way?

@ZastrowBradley - Special Council Nomination 01/2024
by ZastrowBradley - No Role
Posted on: Nov. 26, 2023, 8:39 a.m.
Content: Cheers @foxSlightly for the above mate - good questions and let me know if you have any follow ups.
Q 1 : If elected, what is the one item you feel passionate about and would like to see accomplished during your tenure within the DAO?
A 1 : I go into greater detail in my announcement post, but there are 3 areas I am passionate about: Value Proposition, Ecosystem Growth and Stakeholder Value. If I had to choose just one, it’s to increase the value proposition.

@ZastrowBradley
I'm officially announcing my candidacy for @apecoin Special Council.
I'm excited for our future.
I'm excited about the opportunity.
We have 3 core areas on which I believe we need to focus:
Value Prop: Why users care.
Ecosystem: The value we bring.
Stakeholders: The reason… twitter.com/i/web/status/ 1 …

Q 2 : What is an area of expertise that you will be bringing to the table?
A 2 : I bring deep experience across both Trad-Fi and Web 3 :
DAO + Token Employment: I’ve worked directly for a DAO before as a senior leader. I was the global head of biz dev for Dash Core Group ($DASH) and built the first global biz dev team & GTM strategy. My salary and budget required a quarterly DAO proposal. Publicly represented $DASH as a speaker at Money 2020 SG and Token 2049 .
Governance: I was a member of the board of directors for 3 American Express joint-venture companies (MY, ID, & PH). Previous Member level of Australian Institute of Company Directors - a professional body for Board members.
Web 3 / ApeCoin Builder: In addition to $DASH, my crypto experience includes co-founding X Marketplace, a Yuga focused NFT marketplace that was the first to integrate $APE as a form of payment and the first NFT sale in $APE was conducted on X MP.

** https://x.com/xdotxyz/status/ 1505466561485697029 ?s= 61 &t=YMDhvZaBujwixxyEYJLSZw
Trad-Fi: 18 + year payments industry veteran, primarily American express. Led M&A, strategic partnerships & financial reporting. People leader experience with regional and global responsibilities.
Q 3 : Are there any factors in your life that may limit your time and ability to serve? (Running a business, extensive traveling, secret agent for the SEC, etc…)
A 3 : Nothing material; X Marketplace was my biggest limiter and it closed a few months back.
Q 4 : What is your least favorite thing right now with our DAO in its current state?
A 4 : Tactically it’s the AIP process and the subsequent contracting process/approach by the Foundation. More strategically, it’s the broader lack of a strong value proposition and minimal ecosystem support.
Q 5 : Currently, many of the proposals are determined by large wallets, there are many grumblings about it though I stand neutral on this; if possible, would you change this? and if so, how and why?
A 5 : I’m empathetic to the grumblings, but I also believe that if you have a lot of skin in the game, you also deserve that vote; you’re taking on more risk. DAO voting is a core to the current $APE use case so to dilute the vote of large wallets, or have other restrictions would seem antagonistic to that part of the value prop. Moving to a vote-escrowed token model (i.e. veCRV) has some benefits in that “skin in the game” is defined as a function of $ and time. However, that by itself still won’t eliminate large whales or delegates from existing or exercising that vote.**
Q 6 : Will you be an active participant in the DAO even if unelected?
A 6 : My participation won’t be affected if I’m unelected. I’m active currently, been an AIP author in the past, and of course see that continuing.

Content: Definitely agree and support adding more marketplaces. Separately, I’d love to see at some point expanding for a new section to include merchants and other places to spend $APE.

AIP-231: Add X Marketplace to “marketplace” section of Apecoin.com
by ZastrowBradley - No Role
Posted on: March 13, 2023, 7:51 a.m.
Content: Proposal Name:
Adding X Marketplace to the Marketplace section of Apecoin.com
Proposal Category:
CORE: BRAND DECISION
Abstract | Two or three sentences that summarize the proposal.
X Marketplace is requesting to be added to the “Marketplace” section of the Apecoin.com website in the same way multiple partners are supported within the “buy/sell” section. X was the first to integrate $APE as a form of payment and has a long history of innovatively supporting ApeCoin along with AIP proposal owners.
Motivation | A statement on why the APE Community should implement the proposal.
X Marketplace launched as Yuga Labs + ApeCoin focused marketplace that was created in advance to support our original AIP proposal.
Since re-launching in Sep 2022 we have conducted $ 1 . 1 million USD in sales with over 644 $APE burned to date.
We have a track record of innovation and industry firsts which are focused on 3 key areas:
Differentiation: X Marketplace is more than an NFT marketplace
Only MP to include a marketplace for IP
First Yuga/ApeCoin focused marketplace and still the only one supporting all Yuga Labs assets - including CryptoPunks, MeeBits and 10 KTF
DeFi integration with ApeFi through the use of ApeUSD to buy/sell NFTs
Growing the ApeCoin Ecosystem:
ApeCoin integrated Mar 17 2022 (+ 1 day after $APE launch https://twitter.com/xdotxyz/status/ 1504463443214012422 ?s= 61 &t=YMDhvZaBujwixxyEYJLSZw)
First NFT sale in $APE was conducted on X Marketplace Mar 19 2022 (https://twitter.com/xdotxyz/status/ 1505466561485697029 ?s= 61 &t=YMDhvZaBujwixxyEYJLSZw)
Integration of WG 0 NFTs to increase transparency of WG 0 ownership and make it easy for users to verify (hidden on OS).
We benefit the ecosystem by burning our fees in $APE: 0 . 25 % MP fee if listed in $APE - and we burn the entire fee. Otherwise it’s 0 . 50 % fee and we use half of it to market buy $APE then burn it.
Launch of ApePay which allows any listed NFT to be bought with $APE regardless of the token in which it’s listed.
Support for the Community
First NFT marketplace to show staked/earned $APE on front end to protect users. (https://twitter.com/xdotxyz/status/ 1588475283413561345 ?s= 61 &t=YMDhvZaBujwixxyEYJLSZw)
Integration and support of leading L 2 projects like Mutant Hounds, Applied Primate Scientists and Jenkins the Valet.
After our proposal was rejected we launched our own reward program using 10 % of our token treasury to fund. (https://twitter.com/xdotxyz/status/ 1572933775289622530 ?s= 61 &t=YMDhvZaBujwixxyEYJLSZw)
Mutual Twitter support for other ApeCoin focused projects and AIP proposals (BoredApe Gazette, ForeverApes, Otherside Wiki, TasterMakerz, etc…)
Proactive Twitter support for listings - hit us up when you list on X MP and we’ll amplify on Twitter.
Integration with Gem.xyz to expand the reach of X MP listings.
Rationale | An explanation of how the proposal aligns with the APE Community’s mission and guiding values.
We are fully aligned with ApeCoin’s guiding values:
Boldness: We don’t shy away from the weird, the hard, or the new
With a history of firsts, we don’t shy away from being bold - especially when it directly benefits ApeCoin and/or Yuga Labs. X MP was the first marketplace to integrate $APE, where the first NFT sale was conducted in $APE, first with $APE staking on the front end, first with an IP marketplace and now first with ApePay (among others) . We are bold and we will not stop being bold.
Equality: One APE equals one APE
Equality is core to us with X being a permissionless peer- 2 -peer marketplace; we allow for equal participation and benefit.
Transparency: Processes and decisions are shared openly with the community
We always approach discussions with the community with full transparency, answering genuine questions and making changes to our approach based on feedback. We are governed by a DAO ourselves and understand this importance.
Collective Responsibility: We leave everything better than we found it.
We’re long time members of the BAYC community as well as APE holders ourselves. Even before our proposal last year was live, we built a marketplace for the community and we only doubled down since then. We burn our marketplace fees because we believe it’s the best thing for the ecosystem and continue to build to advance its growth. We will always be members of the community.
Persistence: Success is an ouroboros, not a straight line
We are defined by our persistence. Despite our previous proposals being knocked back, and bear market challenges, we continue to push forward.
Key Terms (optional) | Definitions of any terms within the proposal that are unique to the proposal, new to the APE Community, and/or industry-specific.
N/A
Specifications | A detailed breakdown of the platforms and technologies that will be used.
N/A. Platform and technology is owned by ApeCoin DAO.
Steps to Implement | The steps to implement the proposal, including associated costs, manpower, and other resources for each step where applicable.
Three simple steps to implement:
X to supply marketing assets (i.e. logo/copy) to ApeCoin DAO
ApeCoin DAO to update website
X Marketplace to double check & go live
Note: If ApeCoin DAO requires any front end resources, we are happy to provide/assist.
Timeline | Relevant timing details, including but not limited to start date, milestones, and completion dates.
N/A. No timeline for X Marketplace. Timeline to make changes to the website are dependent on ApeCoin DAO. If any front end resources are required, we are happy to provide/assist.
Overall Cost | The total cost to implement the proposal.
N/A. If ApeCoin DAO requires any front end resources to execute, we are happy to provide/assist.
Proposals submitted to the AIP Ideas category can be vague, incomplete ideas. Topics submitted here are not required to be submitted as a formal AIP Draft Template, however, you may still use the template if you wish.

@ZastrowBradley - Nomination 1/2022
by ZastrowBradley - No Role
Posted on: Dec. 7, 2022, 11:12 p.m.
Content: Hi @foxSlightly cheers for the questions! Please let me know if you have any follow ups!
Q 1 : If elected, what is the one item you feel passionate about and would like to see accomplished during your tenure within the DAO? (Let’s pretend you only had the time and energy to make a personal push for one item - what would it be?)
A 1 : If there was only one item - it would be to move towards more decentralisation, especially around the proposal process. We saw the risk of this earlier when we needed an emergency 3 mo contract extension for the Board + Cartan. I go into more detail on how we could do this here: Adding Value to ApeCoin. I announced my candidacy for one of the… | by Bradley Zastrow | Nov, 2022 | Medium
Q 2 : Are there any factors in your life that may limit your ability to serve? (conflicts of interest, time allocation, limited wifi bc you work from Starbucks… etc).
A 2 : I wouldn’t call it a “big” factor but for transparency: I am based out of Australia. I’ve got great flexibility on timezones - but it means only having Twitter Spaces/meetings at 330 am AU time are sub-optimal.
Q 3 : What is your least favorite thing right now with our DAO in it’s current state?
A 3 : The centralisation. If the current board quit along with Cartan - we would struggle to functionally do much of anything
Q 4 : What is a Koda?
A 4 : A cross between Fraggles and Smurfs - they’re the guardians of the Otherside. They will harvest resources on the Otherside lands and take them to Wagmi-san to craft into useful tools and supplies.
