  Content: @bigbull Absolutely! I saw your suggestion about adding an extra incentive by requiring AIP authors to submit implementation reports before progressing with new AIPs, and I think it’s a solid idea that could really help. Maybe we could take it a step further by making the implementation report a mandatory milestone for any new AIP. Attaching a portion of the funding to this milestone could further motivate authors and reinforce that win-win dynamic as it becomes standard practice.

Current Progress: GIF & Meme Library: Launched and used by over 100 communities in web 3 for almost a year. The library continues to grow in terms of both content and users. Software Optimizations: Fixed slowdowns and access issues, reducing template loading time by 10 x and optimizing functionality across all devices, browsers, and platforms. New Features & Customizations: GIF Customization: Users can now fine-tune head placement on GIF templates. Text: Added 20 + new fonts, 6 new styles, and numerous color options. Wallet Integration: Connect wallets for extra functionality, token-gated spaces, and a more personalized experience. Custom Faces: Users can upload custom faces to use with templates. Last Used Section: Users can quickly access previously used assets. Content Expansion: Over 3000 GIFs with face-tracking, 2000 + memes, and daily content updates are available in the platform’s “new” section. ApeCoin Content & Community Area: Created hundreds of ApeCoin-branded GIF and meme templates. Launched a token-gated space for ApeCoin holders offering exclusive content for $APE holders called ApeCoin Community Area. Collaborated with ApeCoin ecosystem projects, like ThankApe by providing them with unique content templates for contributions. Created unique templates for events like ApeCoin Elections and NFTNYC in collab with ApeCoin MarComms. ApeCoin Watermark: Featured on every piece of content exported during the platform’s first year, with over 40 , 000 downloads, 7 , 000 Community Area downloads, and 20 M+ impressions on X. Mobile App: Beta-tested by 100 ambassadors, resulting in 3 , 000 + pieces of content created. Due to feedback, a wallet login has been added, and due to iOS app limitations in terms of wallet connection decided to opt in for a PWA instead, for greater platform compatibility. User Growth: Unique users have grown 11 x since the public release and 4 x since early 2024 . Current user numbers: October 2023 : 831 February 2024 : 2 , 225 August 2024 : 8 , 821 Partnerships & B 2 B Services Since the last update, 3 look has collaborated with over 100 web 3 projects including: A KID Called BEAST, Mocaverse, Redacted, Thrive Protocol, Lazy Lions, Chimpers, on 1 Force, Venom Foundation, The Plague, Hape, Baby Doge, B 3 L, EON RIFT, Moon Ape Lab, Moonrunners, OCB, Space Riders, and The Habibiz and many more. I believe we addressed the question about royalties in our previous responses, but to reiterate: If there’s an established mechanism concerning royalties, we’re absolutely open to considering it. As I mentioned earlier: doberdanny: we’re ready to consider a fee structure if it’s something the community would want, and if it’s implemented by all the other brands using this IP. However, we do think that having the ApeCoin logo on ecosystem products benefits the DAO by increasing visibility and promoting the ecosystem. Plus, any project trying to copy us would still need DAO approval to use the IP, so that should prevent confusion. Olakojodan: I feel we are done paying for visibility and we should focus more on what you are returning in terms of funds back to the DAO. Regarding visibility, this isn’t the primary benefit we’re offering the DAO—in fact, it’s a small part among the ones we described in the BENEFIT TO APECOIN ECOSYSTEM section. It includes many other significant advantages like user onboarding, transaction activity, and more that you can review in the proposal text. Olakojodan: Visibility has been covered by what ThankApe is doing and they are doing pretty well. I agree that ThankApe is doing a tremendous job in providing visibility for the DAO. We’ve been partners for quite a while, and collaborated with them by offering our content creation tools, creating special content, and even setting up a dedicated content hub page for specific ApeCoin content-related contributions. We’re not aiming to duplicate their efforts but to complement them. Our focus is on building an efficient SocialFi Meme platform with promotional and content creation tools that can be utilized by any brand or individual in the space. This, in turn, will draw people to ApeChain, as it will be required to utilize the platform’s full functionality. Olakojodan: So is the DAO going to receive a part of the 3 look token airdrop as a way of appreciating them for funding your proposal??? As for allocating part of the 3 look token Airdrop to the DAO treasury directly alongside the community distribution, we believe it’s totally possible if the procedures allow it. However, I’d like to note that the token launch is planned after we implement all the commitments in our proposal and isn’t part of the proposal itself.   Content: Please note that we have reduced the request amount in the proposal to $ 243 , 000 . This amount was previously indicated as the estimated cost of development. Going forward, the resource portion requested from the DAO will be dedicated solely to accelerating development. Beyond that, we will invest our company funds to support additional development, marketing, business development, security audits, and other activities, while continuing to bring benefits to the ecosystem.

  • Olakojodan: You still didn’t answer the question on royalties paid back to the DAO. Anyone can try to copy your technology, asides the visibility what happens to the treasury in the DAO. I feel we are done paying for visibility and we should focus more on what you are returning in terms of funds back to the DAO. Visibility has been covered by what ThankApe is doing and they are doing pretty well. So is the DAO going to receive a part of the 3look token airdrop as a way of appreciating them for funding your proposal???

  Content: Hey Manakel, First of all, thank you for your thoughtful questions and for acknowledging our accomplishments with APE. We’re happy to provide clarity on your queries: We believe that we’re building a completely new product that leverages the awareness and brand of the previous version of 3 look. It has the potential to bring significant value to ApeChain, the ecosystem, and therefore the DAO. Given the value we aim to provide, we feel that this proposal merits grant funding in the first place. One of our focuses is definitely on community benefit and ecosystem growth, which aligns with the principles of a grant. I believe our proposal stands out due to the unique benefits it brings to the ecosystem, and aside from new users, enhanced transactional activity, volume, and other benefits we described in the proposal, the implementation of this concept on ApeChain before something similar is done on other chains will be an advantage for the ecosystem. It lets me assume that these elements collectively make our offering timely and deserving. Yes, we are committed to developing this project regardless of the DAO’s decision. However, securing the DAO grant will significantly accelerate our progress and enable us to build the core functionality more efficiently. We have kept our funding request within reasonable limits, ensuring that the grant will cover the essential aspects of the project. We are also prepared to invest our own resources to further develop and maintain the project, ensuring it becomes a stable and profitable venture that not only benefits ourselves but also the ecosystem and DAO. Regarding Banana Bill, we plan to apply for funding from that pool as well, either as initial capital or to scale what we’ll build with the potential grant funds. We are open to discussing royalty payments to the DAO if such a mechanism exists, and we welcome all suggestions to find a mutually beneficial solution.
