Content: Oh yea, I like that idea!
One of these days we should get a gaming group together to put together ideas and strategize.

Content: Interesting, what would a games vertical look like in your books? I’d be interested in joining!
From my understanding talking to the community, whales are never going to fund a game that doesn’t return funds to the treasury. I think we’ll need to dig into this further if we ever want to fund and develop a game with the DAO.
Setting up a sub-DAO is a big undertaking, so there would need to significant buy-in and people onboard to set a gaming sub-DAO up and run it. I’d like to get Cartan’s advice on the subject.

Would love to talk about a) setting up sub-DAO and b) plans for gaming (is the DAO ever gonna fund a game ).

a) Sub-DAOs may not be the path to go just yet – but a games vertical might be worth discussing
b) I would say yes – I would also suggest that a games vertical concept could help get more games proposals passed faster
Just my two-cents✌?
- Mantis: I’ve had an idea about this for a while… the DAO funds a hackathon/game jam, and the winner gets that game put into full production. That way you know the money’s going into an idea that has already proven its popularity/traction somewhat! Anyway, would be interesting to discuss.

ApeCoin DAO cannot accept revenue. A cost-center without resources, direction or ownership of economic upside is unsustainable.
For point # 4 , are you saying that some part of the DAO needs to have some ownership or control over economic upside of future proposals?
As things currently stand, we haven’t worked out a way to do this legally, but people are starting to get interested in figuring this out.

Aligns economic incentives and also allows self-sustaining initiatives (e.g., marketplace finder’s fee used to maintain, market, and develop marketplace. And so forth.

Content: Staking isn’t live for a few more weeks, but you can use your $APE to impact the direction of the DAO by voting on upcoming proposals.
There are 4 proposals up to vote tomorrow: AIPs- 87 , 93 , 98 , & 103
I wrote AIP- 103 and happy to answer any questions you have on it

AMA Thursdays for proposals hitting Snapshot

Content: Agreed :+ 1 :. I think this proposal compliments bringing on a team and doing more.
My focus with this proposal is codifying one aspect of the social media strategy, so that any proposal going to vote has opportunities to get in front of the audience of 380 k followers the @ApeCoin DAO has built. From there, we could bring on official hosts and create new events to compliment this.
My team ran 4 AMA to discuss AIP- 78 (Ape Worlds game) before it went live and were unable able to get many Apes to participate. If @ApeCoin had been able to host or join the AMA, I think we could have reached more $APE holders. This was where this idea came from.
Regarding focus, I completely agree that the foundation (I’m guessing that is the board and @guyoseary) should be working on big picture things and only join AMA when there is a topic they are interested. That or, expressly not join any of these, so as to not favor some proposals over others.
A final question is if we can share the Twitter handle login details to an outside person, or if the DAO management company (Cartan group?) needs to be the only people able to manage the account. This is a execution-level detail that I could see coming up in future proposals.

AMA Thursdays for proposals hitting Snapshot
by fridayyy - No Role

Content: Thanks for the feedback & support @maariab!
There is a team operating the DAO and the ApeCoin official Twitter account, so I wasn’t sure if this could fit into their existing workflow & budget, or if additional funds would be required. We can ask at the next stage.
My thinking behind this proposal is to commit the DAO to the bare minimum, ie a weekly AMA whenever a new proposal goes live. From there we can test it out and then build additional features on top of it that require a team and budget.
Cheers,
Fridayyy

Content: Yea, good points here. I am not sure about best practices, but Q&A happens on twitter, though it can be a bit messy.
Text transcripts would be a cool feature. I wonder if Twitter supports that natively? Otherwise there are services that could be used.
I agree other time zones are a good idea. It would be nice if they were at regular times so everyone would know when to tune in for their timezone’s AMA without having to look it up each week.

Content: Yea, I think a lot more could be done in this area that would add a lot of voter engagement. If there is interest we could make this a more robust proposal :rocket:.
My thinking was starting small and proposing that we codify an AMA into the ApeCoin official social media strategy, letting the DAO admins decide if a budget is required, and building from there.
