We’re thrilled to announce RetroPitches, an initiative to support Retro Funding Round 6 by helping showcase and evaluate public goods creators who are advancing governance infrastructure & tooling, analytics, and leadership on Optimism! This round will distribute up to 3 . 5 M OP to reward these contributions :sun_with_face:
RetroPitches are friendly competitions where governance contributors can present their projects, demonstrate their impact, and advance governance innovation on the Superchain. These games provide public goods creators with a platform to showcase their work while helping badgeholders gain deeper insights into contributions being evaluated in Retro Funding Round 6 .

Event Details
The first RetroPitches session will take place this Thursday at the Optimism Town Hall event at 18 UTC, with additional sessions planned for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week as listed below. We’re happy to add more events if these times don’t work for you—just let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate everyone!
Each participating applicant will have 3 - 5 minutes to pitch their grant during these events. If you have a grant in RetroFunding Round 6 , we encourage you to sign up in this form to select your preferred date and reserve your spot:

RetroPolls: Onchain Impact Evaluation
To complement these presentations and create a comprehensive evaluation process, we’re also launching RetroPolls - an innovative onchain impact evaluation system. RetroPolls will allow Token House members, Citizens’ House badgeholders, and the Optimism Fractal community to help evaluate the impact of RetroFunding projects. Everyone is welcome to join the events, participate in the voting, and help recognize impactful work in the ecosystem.

Yes, to answer your question about recordings—all RetroPitches events at the Town Hall will be recorded and shared on social media to maximize visibility for participating projects. You can find them on the Eden Creators YouTube channel.

Event Overview

For RetroFunding Round 6 , we’re enhancing RetroPitches with new features that specifically focus on governance impact evaluation. Building on our learnings from the past year, we’re introducing RetroPolls - an onchain voting system that enables diverse stakeholders across the Optimism ecosystem to participate in impact evaluation.
RetroPolls will allow Token House members, Citizens’ House badgeholders, and the Optimism Fractal community to help evaluate the impact of RetroFunding projects by voting in onchain polls on Snapshot X. Stay tuned for details on how you can get involved in RetroPolls!

The Respect Game is an exciting social consensus game where you get to showcase your work and collaborate with fellow optimists. Together, you decide who made the biggest impact on Optimism by ranking each other’s contributions. The rankings go onchain, and you’re rewarded with Respect tokens, offering recognition and value to the builders shaping the Superchain! :dizzy:

Optimism Town Hall
After the Respect Game at Optimism Fractal, we’ll have a deep dive into Hats Protocol during the Optimism Town Hall at 18 UTC :sunflower::billed_cap::deciduous_tree:
We’ll be joined by David Ehrlichman, who is a co-founder of Hats Protocol, Haberdasher Labs, and the author of the book Impact Networks. The topics we might discuss include an exciting recap of the inaugural Hatathon (where the Optimism Fractal Hats Tree was selected as a co-winner), future synergies between Hats and Fractals, and David’s vision for Hats Protocol! After a brief introductory segment, we’ll jump into a new kind of Community Interview game where community members can propose and vote on questions on the Optimism Town Hall snapshot space. If there are questions or topics related to Hats Protocol that you’d like to be discussed during the Town Hall, then you can post it on this snapshot space at any time and/or vote with Respect to influence the discussion. The questions proposed in the Optimism Town Hall snapshot space will be prioritized during the discussion in order of Respect votes.

The Optimism Town Hall weekly events provide an open forum to participate in governance discussions, pioneer the future of community coordination, and help lead the Optimism Collective. After the Respect Game, we’ll play an OPTOPICS agenda game to select a discussion topic during the Town Hall.

There’s a new OPTOPICS snapshot space for posting topic proposals and some of the exciting topics which got proposed were Retro Funding 6 (focused on Governance), Optimism Missions Updates, Optimism Collective Identity, Optimism Collective Governance, and more.
