Emergency upgrade may affect protocols that rely on dispute game such as ENS gateway. Need to test if this such case is handled.
This is the case.
ajsutton:
No, the anchor state is just the starting point for new dispute games of that game type.
Is there documentation for this?
—-
Whilst I appreciate that this is an ‘emergency’ upgrade and a good opportunity to prepare for the future, tooling utilising the implementation as is(was) is prone to breaking - it would be great to have additional documentation and clarity on what can change and under what circumstances.
- inphi: Although the fallback was activated, strictly speaking, an emergency upgrade has not been performed. The contracts deployed on op-mainnet have not been changed from those approved in Protocol Upgrade #7: Fault Proofs. The ability for the Guardian or Deputy Guardian to switch to the permissioned fallback was built into that proposal as part of a staged, responsible rollout of fault proofs.
That said, other applications that are using the OptimismPortal.respectedGameType will be affected by the change and need to wait for new dispute games to resolve. The exact impact will depend on the details of the application and how they’re using dispute game results.

Are you a representative of OP Labs: No
Please elaborate on your technical background. Please include information about the layer of the stack you have the most expertise on:
I have been a TechNerd since Season 4 . As a TechNerd, I have solved many cases related to OP Stack development, including launching nodes and OP Stack chains. I have also contributed to bug fixing and documentation for OP Stack.
My expertise lies primarily in OP Stack. I have developed many projects, most of them on Optimism, such as RetroList and Opti.Domains. I have also contributed to the ENS Gateway development upgrade for the OP Stack dispute game fault-proof merge. Most importantly, I maintain simple-optimism-node, the simplest and fastest Docker-based approach to launching an Optimism full node.
In addition, I have experience in Cosmos module development and non-EVM chains, including Sui and Aptos. I am also experienced in deploying validators and indexing nodes for various protocols.
Please demonstrate any non-Optimism experience you believe is relevant to this role:

Won many hackathons in the past
Have you previously served in a representative (appointed or elected) role in the Collective?
TechNerd. Since I am a TechNerd, I can act as a bridge between the Developer Advisory Board and TechNerd.

[READY TO VOTE] OP Stack Research and Implementation Grants ?
Mission Request made by @Chom and originally shared here.
Delegate Mission Request Summary
This mission request is designed to enable the developer community to contribute to the core OP Stack by engaging in research and implementation on various topics. Since this is a research problem, it’s possible that this may fail. In such cases, grantees are required to open source their implementation and create follow-up documentation that details the reasons for failure and any obstacles encountered.…
Pull Requests and Issues Discovered
Add Base Sepolia support to Reth
Report Reth on base mainnet not working with op-node v 1 . 5 . 0
Fix add protocol version to getting-started.json
Contributed to the development and upgrade of the ENS Gateway for the OP Stack dispute game fault-proof merge
Finally, as a TechNerd, I have solved many cases related to OP Stack development, including launching nodes and OP Stack chains.
Please describe your philosophy on what makes a good Mission Application:
Aligned with the mission request
Explain the brief technical implementation of the project
Not a bunch of buzzwords packed together
Team should have related past experience in that field
Have an impact on the collective
For end-user applications, prefer the one with a good revenue and business model over the builder-only application, especially if revenue sharing is proposed.
For end-user applications, the mission application should have both builder and growth aspects. Otherwise, adoption is unlikely to happen. However, the current grant system design discourages this.
Please demonstrate your ability to explain complex technical topics to a non-technical audience:
As a TechNerd, I have solved many cases involving OP Stack development, node launching, and OP Stack chain deployment. I have also contributed to technical documentation, which requires the ability to explain complex technical topics simply.
Please disclose any anticipated conflicts of interest:
I have contributed to these projects and companies

Content: image 1996 × 1084 185 KB Does the retrospective snapshot include a token delegated from the foundation? I think it should. If it doesn’t, then there must be an error! According to CuriaHub, as of May 9 , I rank 86 , which places me within the top 100 delegates. However, if the foundation’s delegated tokens aren’t counted, I will fall outside of the top 100 . But if you use the snapshot from this dashboard: https://dune.com/optimismfnd/optimism-op-token-house 3 It’s completely wrong, as this dashboard “does NOT yet handle for the new partial delegation contract”
