RRC-XX Tokenomics Working Group Proposal
by Sixty - No Role
Posted on: Aug. 20, 2024, 9:58 a.m.
Content: GM GM, I’m Just throwing my 2 cents in here; as a newer participant in this DAO, I’m not sure how exactly to move this particular situation, but I would obviously like to hear more from other members.
So as it stands,
The initial proposal for a Tokenomics working group passed 1 . This proposal unfortunately did not have the code necessary to move the RARI requested for compensation to the TokWG multisig.
A second proposal (a corrected version of the first proposal) was created to address the above issue, this proposal did not reach quorum, and in addition to that, @Matt_StableLab had voted against it despite voting FOR initially. Everyone else who had participated previously had voted the same.
The reasoning for @Matt_StableLab, who is the largest RARI delegate, voting against the corrected version was that this working group was redundant due to the creation of a Governance Working Group. The Governance Working Group, however, does not have any mandate or goals to address or research tokenomics, so this is not exactly a strong reason. In addition, @Matt_StableLab is part of the proposed Governance working group, which could be viewed as a conflict of interest.
I would recommend a rerun of the corrected version of the proposal, but I would also love to hear from the rest of the community on how best to move forward.

[RRC-XX] Enhancing Multichain Governance: Upgrading RARI DAO Token on Arbitrum and RARI chains
by Sixty - No Role
Posted on: July 18, 2024, 11:55 a.m.
Content: I support this proposal; one of the more common complaints about participating in RARI DAO governance is the high gas fees, so an Arbitrum implementation of the token will help here.
However, I would first like to hear how the issues addressed by @Jaf above will be addressed; liquidity is a big concern, especially considering that there will be two different token implementations.

Posted on: July 2, 2024, 8:28 a.m.
Content: Hey, guys @jengajojo @coffee-crusher @Jaf @addie, I think it would be best to coordinate the next steps outside of the forum and share our final decision afterward. It’s important to ensure all of us are aligned before the start of the working group. Could you set up a group chat for coordination @jengajojo.

[RRC-XX] Empower active delegates

Content: Are there any plans to onboard a new cohort of delegates @jengajojo @bitblondy?

- addie: Jumping in @Sixty. The Delegate Launchpad was kicked off in August of 2023 per RRC-9 passing
Cohort 1 ran from August 2023-February 2024
Cohort 2 is running from February 2024-August 2024
Cohort 3 aims to kick off around August or September 2024. Exact dates are pending and will be confirmed ASAP
The current mandate is to run the Launchpad 2x annually, so this will continue unless there is another vote to adjust the Launchpad program voted in via RRC-9
While the goal of the Launchpad is not currently retention between cohorts, prior cohort applicants are invited to apply to future cohorts under the Launchpad.
The Foundation encourages Launchpad recipients to campaign for their own delegations to continue contributing with RARI DAO. Thus, cohort 1 Launchpad recipients voted in RRC-13 to incentivize receiving direct delegations from other community members, coinciding with the Launchpad delegations linearly decreasing in Nov 2023 and ceasing to exist by Feb 2024.
The Foundation aims to elevate the Delegate Launchpad recipients in efforts to help them remain RARI DAO delegates as growing our community of active delegates is crucial to healthy functioning of our governance. Therefore, the Foundation participated in the working group that contributed to RRC-13 passing, and helped the DAO promote the Delegation Incentives Campaign during Q4 2023.
The Foundation reviewed the previous Delegation Incentives Campaign with the DAO during the community call (slide 6) on June 18, 2024, and shared how the Foundation will plan to amplify delegations to cohort 2 regardless of what the DAO decides to do for an incentives campaign for cohort 2, which is being discussed on this thread started by @jengajojo.

Reviving Rari Chain: A Call for Community Action
by Sixty - No Role
Posted on: June 21, 2024, 10:25 a.m.
Content: Hey @dzonson.eth, thank you for the detailed analysis and for raising these critical points about the current state of Rari Chain. I fully agree that we must address the stagnation and find effective solutions to revive the chain.
Firstly, it’s important to acknowledge the disappointment and frustration stemming from the initial high expectations and subsequent decline in activity. The enthusiasm around wallet creations and bridging showed a clear interest and potential that hasn’t been sustained.
As someone newer to the RARI community, these are some potential factors contributing to the current situation from my understanding:
Lack of Unique Value Proposition: Rari Chain may not offer something distinct enough to attract and retain users compared to other chains.
Ecosystem and Apps: A thriving ecosystem with a healthy number of native apps, active partnerships, and collaborations is crucial for sustained growth. From my quick research, I have not seen any apps that would personally influence me to bridge to Rari Chain.
To address some of these challenges, we obviously need to make some targeted changes and efforts:
Community Feedback and Engagement: Actively seek input from the community about their needs and preferences. Conduct surveys, host focus groups, and create forums for open dialogue. Understanding what users and creators want that would attract them to Rari Chain.
Improve User Experience: Improve and enhance the overall user experience. Address technical issues promptly and provide comprehensive support and tutorials for new users.
Strengthen Ecosystem and Partnerships: Foster relationships with apps on other chains, developers, and artists. Incentivize these stakeholders to build and contribute to the Rari Chain ecosystem.
Reassess Incentive Programs: Ensure incentives align with user engagement and long-term growth rather than short-term gains.
While having this discussion on the forum is a good first step, some more actionable efforts need to be made, such as:
Scheduling a dedicated community call to discuss the current issues and proposed solutions and encouraging participation from all stakeholders.
Create focused working groups to tackle specific areas such as user experience, marketing, and partnerships. These groups should include both Rari DAO and Rari Foundation members.
Reviving Rari Chain will require a concerted effort from the entire community. By actively engaging with users, improving the platform, and strategically focusing resources, we can reignite the potential that was evident at launch. But first the community must come together, share ideas, and take decisive action to ensure Rari Chain’s success. The journey ahead may be challenging, but we can overcome these obstacles with collective effort and determination and build a thriving ecosystem.

- bitblondy: Thanks for the detailed suggestions, you mention some good dimensions to work on.
I agree that this topic is something to discuss in a working group / community meetings as well, since it’s really a long-term effort.
